Eidfest is a festival for Muslims and Non Muslims to come together to celebrate the end of the fasting month of Ramadhan. After a month of fasting, and praying and sacrificing little things in life it is the day that we can celebrate with our family, friends, community, and city.
Our Brisbane Muslim community is very diverse and has cultural groups from all corners of the world, including South Africa, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Jordan, Palestine, Fiji, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Morocco, Libya, Burundi, Somalia, India, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the UAE, to name just a few. Eidfest is an opportunity for all of us to meet together and enjoy a day of fun, festivities and entertainment.
It's a place to showcase what the Muslim community can do, the variety of foods we eat, the clothes we wear and the different types of entertainment from our cultures. It is a melting pot of cultures that come together to celebrate the end of a wonderful month in the Muslim calendar.
We have multicultural cooking demonstrations, diverse cultural acts, international food, fireworks and overseas trips to be won. It's a great family day out with no alcohol, and a safe environment for all.
